The County Executive Committee (CEC) is the official representative body of the Harris County Democratic Party. It is the grassroots organization that collectively determine the philosophy and direction of the party. The CEC has supervisory power and jurisdiction over Democratic Party affairs in Harris County.
The CEC is composed of the County Chair, Party Officers, Senate District Members, Steering Committee Members and the Precinct Chairs from each of the voting precincts within Harris County.
The County Executive Committee (CEC) is responsible for:
- Establishing basic County Party goals and objective
- Electing a County Party Secretary and Treasurer
- Approving a budget
- Approving the Steering Committees, the Standing Party Committees, the Country Primary Committee and, the General Election Campaign Committee
- Assisting the County Party in its mission of electing Democrats and supporting the election process
