Recently, Representative Debbie Riddle went on CNN, talking with Anderson Cooper and Representative Anchia, on her perception of “little terrorists.” She believes that there is an ongoing long term plot in which pregnant foreign tourists from the southern countries and the Middle East are coming into the country, having kids, and then taking them back home with the “nefarious purpose of turning them into little terrorists” and then coming back into the U.S. as part of an organized sinister terrorist element.
Does this sound ridiculous to you? Well it sounded ridiculous to Anderson Cooper, but giving her the benefit of the doubt, asked her to provide any sort of evidence or names of the supposed former FBI agents who gave her this information. Riddle repeatedly could not answer that simple question and said “I don’t have the hard evidence [...] your station never told me you were going to grill me on this specific information.” Show that you won’t stand for this by contributing to the Harris County Democratic Party’s Coordinated Campaign today.
Representative Riddle — if you cannot answer simple factual questions, then it is time for you to leave our state government and let those who will govern based off of evidence, rather than political affiliation, take over. We have a fantastic Democratic candidate, Brad Neal, running against Rep. Riddle. He wants to bring back a sense of responsibility and ethics back to our state government. If Riddle was to continue in office, she plans on introducing and spearheading the efforts to have an Arizona type immigration law introduced here in Texas.
Riddle is simply appealing to her conservative base, however, we know that Texas needs to move forward, not backwards. Her unsubstantiated claims are completely ludicrous and demonstrate that the Republican Party will divide this state with their mean-spirited policies. As Anderson Cooper stated, she has “no facts and no proof” to hold any sort of validity to this claim and merely is utilizing cheap political ploys to scare the public into thinking that this is a real threat. We will not and cannot stand for this kind of intolerance any longer.
